About ISV2026

Welcome to the 16th International Symposium on Variants in the Genome, taking place from 20 - 23 May 2026, in the beautiful city of Leuven, Belgium. We are thrilled to invite you back for this in-person event.

This biennial conference, formerly known as the Mutation Detection meeting series, will delve into the latest advancements in scanning, sequencing, databasing, and bioinformatics analysis of genetic variants in DNA, RNA, and protein. As technology rapidly evolves, understanding the impact of these variants on individual health is becoming increasingly vital, transforming how we interpret genomic data. This year's symposium will place special emphasis on the methodologies and capabilities for functional testing and classification of genomic variants associated with disease.

Renowned scientists from around the globe will present their groundbreaking research during plenary sessions, alongside speakers selected from submitted abstracts through a rigorous peer-review process.

ISV2026 serves as an excellent platform for knowledge-sharing and networking with international leaders in human genetics. We encourage you to submit your abstracts promptly and to join us in Leuven for this dynamic and enriching experience.

We look forward to welcoming you in 2026!
